Glasgow, March 8, 2024 – Israeli winger Liel Abada has transferred from Scottish giants Celtic to Major League Soccer club Charlotte FC for a staggering ₹64 crore.
The 22-year-old speedster, who has dominated the Scottish Premiership since joining Celtic in 2021. He has signed an expensive four-year contract with the MLS club smashing the league’s transfer record.

Although the Hoops were hesitant to part with one of their most valuable assets, they were unable to reject Charlotte’s incredible offer due to its high profit margin.
“Liel has been a fantastic servant to Celtic, and we’re grateful for his contributions over the past three seasons,” Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou said. “While we’re disappointed to lose him, the financial realities of modern football mean this deal makes sense for all parties involved.”
