Chelsea’s summer transfer activity might not be over just yet. Despite the massive injection of talent, the Blues could further bolster their attacking options before the window closes. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano provides the latest insights on potential targets.
Ligue 1 Standout – Jonathan David
Lille striker Jonathan David has emerged as a potential target for Chelsea. This Canadian international player is known for his clinical finishing. He is entering the final year of his contract and could be on the move this summer.
Chelsea’s interest is confirmed by Romano, who writes for CaughtOffside: “I know there has been talk about the Canadian forward being on Chelsea’s radar, but he’s also a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen at Napoli.”
However, Romano warns that not much progress has been made: “I have no confirmation about the Napoli negotiations at this time.” Of course many clubs value David so I’m sure he’ll be a player to monitor this summer with one year left on his contract but Napoli has yet to settle on their major striker target. It’s the same with Chelsea there is no real update from my end.“
Chelsea’s Search for a Creative Spark Continues
Chelsea’s pursuit of attacking reinforcements isn’t limited to traditional strikers. Romano reveals that the Blues are actively seeking a creative playmaker in the mold of a winger or attacking midfielder after missing out on Michael Olise.
The club recently showed interest in Lyon’s promising talent Bradley Barcola. However, PSG appears to be the frontrunner for the 20 year old French winger.
“FC asked for information last week for Bradley Barcola from Lyon who is a fantastic talent but PSG are the favorites because they have an agreement on the player’s side for a long time” Romano confirms.

Could Chelsea Target Another Striker?
Romano suggests Chelsea’s transfer plans could still encompass strengthening at center-forward. “Let’s see if they’ll go also for a central striker. This is something that is still being discussed internally but not guaranteed yet.”
This leaves the door open for the Blues to make a late move especially if their new signing. Nicolas Jackson doesn’t quickly find his rhythm in the Premier League.
Summer Spending Raises Expectations
Chelsea’s owner Todd Boehly has backed the club with an unprecedented spending spree including a British-record deal for Moises Caicedo. While results are yet to clearly reflect this investment pressure is mounting on manager Mauricio Pochettino to deliver. The addition of one or more attacking talents could be the catalyst to turn the season around.
