Shubman Gill was born on September 8, 1999 in Fazilka, Punjab. He is a rising star in Indian cricket. He started playing cricket at an early age developing his abilities on the farm where he was raised.

Shubman Gill made his List A debut for Punjab in 2017 and soon established himself in domestic cricket striking an outstanding 63 on his first-class debut before going on to get his maiden century the following game. These early accomplishments at the Under-16 level and in local cricket won him a position in India’s U-19 team where he helped the country win a record fourth world title at the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.

Shubman Gill’s international career began in 2019 when he made his ODI debut for India against New Zealand. Since then he has shown himself as an important member of the Indian side in all formats with standout performances in Tests and T20Is.

Shubman Gill has been a regular performer in the Indian Premier League (IPL) having previously represented the Kolkata Knight Riders from 2018 to 2021 before joining the Gujarat Titans in 2022. His outstanding performance during the 2023 IPL season earned him the Orange Cap with an astonishing 890 runs. This is the second-highest total in IPL history including three hundreds. Gill’s contributions were essential in Gujarat Titans’ title-winning campaign in IPL 2022.
