Jaiswal’s Flawless Hundred Sparks India ‘s Fightback

India’s young batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal continues to write his own script  in red ball cricket as he scored a stunning sixth Test century, his fourth against England, on Day 3 of the final test at the Oval. The 24-year-old opener bounced back from a poor first-innings performance to lead India’s  second innings fightback, bringing up his century in style with a flurry of boundaries.

The milestone came in the 51 st over and Jaiswal’s celebration was equally expressive, removing his helmet, blowing kisses to the dressing room and making a heart gesture with his hands. In Indian Camp, including needed coach Gautham Gambhir, rose in applause, acknowledging yet another special knock from the in-form batter.

India record breaking series

Jaiswal’s ton was India’s 12th century in the ongoing Anderson Tendulkar trophy, breaking their series set against the West Indies in 1978. This is now the third-highest total number of individual centuries in a test series by a team trailing only Australia and the West Indies, who hold the record with 21 in a 1955 series. This landmark showcases the incredible consistency and dominance of Indian batters  throughout the five-match series.

Jaiswal special connection with England

This knock further solidifies Jaiswal’s growing  reputation as a nemesis for England. A former English  pacer on air remarked on his love affair with England countries, a fitting summary of Jaiswal’ consistent excellence. Interestingly, 82 of his first 100 runs came from behind square, the most by any batter at the time of reaching a hundred, highlighting his mastery in placement and short selection.

Shubman Gill Misses Milestone

While Jaiswal grabbed headlines, Shubman Gill fell short of etching his name into the record books. Needing just 21 runs to surpass Sunil Gavaskar’s iconic tally of 774 runs in a  test series , Gill dismissed  LBW by Guns Atkinson for a duck right after lunch. He finishes the series with 754 runs, the second  highest by an Indian in a single test series, underlining his consistent contribution throughout.

Series Drama and Emotions

The series has been a blend of high-quality cricket and heated exchanges. Jaiswal reportedly snapped twice at Karun Nair over fielding lapses. Meanwhile, Akash Deep was repeatedly involved in tense moments, adding spice to the already intense on-field rivalry.

Day 5: A Grand finale Awaits

With just 35 runs needed and 4 wickets in hand, England Historic Chase. India, hungry for a fightback, needed three breakthroughs with Woakes injured and rain looming, the series finale hanging on a knife edge and a thrilling end to a classic Anderson-Tendulkar trophy.
