Renuka Singh Thakur was born on 2nd January 1996 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. She bats right-handed and bowls right-arm medium-fast wit. Renuka started playing cricket at a young age and joined the residential program of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association for females in 2009. She took the most wickets in domestic one-day cricket with 23 wickets. Renuka made her Twenty20 International debut against Australia in Canberra in 2021. She made her ODI debut against New Zealand in February 2022. 

Renuka got an award for her performance at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham where she was the tournament’s highest wicket taker with 11 wickets in five games with an economy rate of 5.47. She took two four-wicket hauls (4/18 against Australia in the opener and 4/10 against Barbados) at an average of 9.45. Renuka became the first Indian bowler to take five wickets in the T20 World Cup with 5/15 against England in Gqeberha, South Africa.
